Laser Hair Removal

Everything Milton clients ask us most about laser hair removal — sessions, comfort, and skin safety.

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

Most clients need 6 to 8 sessions spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart for optimal results. Hair grows in cycles and the laser is only effective on follicles in the active growth phase, which is why multiple sessions are required. After your initial series, most people need only occasional maintenance sessions once or twice a year.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as a quick, light snap against the skin. Our laser system chills the skin to around -40°C during treatment, which makes it far more comfortable than older machines, and the vast majority of clients find it far less painful than waxing. Sensitive areas such as the upper lip or bikini line can feel a little more intense but the pulses are brief.

Is laser hair removal safe for dark or brown skin tones?

Yes. Our Nd:YAG laser operates at a 1064nm wavelength that safely bypasses surface melanin to target the hair follicle directly. This makes it the gold standard for darker skin tones — including South Asian, Black, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean complexions (Fitzpatrick types IV–VI) — without the burn or hyperpigmentation risks of older lasers. For lighter skin (types I–III) we can also use our Alexandrite laser for faster results.

What areas of the body can be treated with laser?

Virtually any area, including the face (upper lip, chin, sideburns), underarms, bikini and Brazilian, full legs, full arms, back, chest, and stomach. We also offer full body packages. During your free consultation we'll build a plan around the areas you want treated.

How much does laser hair removal cost in Milton?

Pricing depends on the treatment area and the number of sessions. Small areas such as the upper lip or chin start from around $39 per session, underarms and bikini from about $59, and discounted full-body packages are available. We offer free consultations to give you personalized pricing and package options.

Electrolysis

Electrolysis is the only method proven to remove hair permanently — and it works on every hair colour.

What is electrolysis and how is it different from laser?

Electrolysis treats one follicle at a time with a fine probe and a small electric current that destroys the growth cells, so treated hairs never grow back. It's the only method clinically recognized as true permanent hair removal and it works on every hair colour, including blonde, grey, red, and white hair that laser can't target. Laser treats many follicles per pulse and is much faster for large areas but is classified as permanent hair reduction. Many clients combine both.

Can electrolysis remove blonde, grey, or white hair?

Yes. Because electrolysis uses electric current rather than light, it doesn't depend on hair pigment. It's the only professional method that can permanently remove light, grey, and white hairs that laser cannot treat.

How many electrolysis sessions will I need?

It depends on the area, hair density, and your hair growth cycle. A small area like the upper lip may need 15 to 20 sessions over several months; larger or denser areas take more. Because hair grows in phases, regular sessions are needed to catch each follicle in its active phase. We'll give you an honest estimate at your consultation.

Facials, HydraFacial & Microneedling

Our most-loved skin treatments and what to expect from each.

What is a HydraFacial and is it suitable for all skin types?

A HydraFacial is a medical-grade treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts, and hydrates the skin in one relaxing session using patented Vortex-Fusion technology. It's safe and effective for all skin types, tones, and ages, and can be customized with targeted boosters. At Exsalonce a HydraFacial MD is $179 for a one-hour session and includes photo light therapy (a $99 value), with zero downtime.

Is microneedling painful and how many sessions do I need?

We apply a topical numbing cream beforehand, so most clients feel only mild pressure or tingling. Most people see noticeable improvement after 3 to 6 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. A single microneedling session is $199, or a package of 3 is $499 (save $98). Expect mild redness for 24 to 48 hours afterward.

How many facial treatments will I need to see results?

Most clients notice visible improvement after their very first facial, especially with the HydraFacial. For ongoing concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation, or fine lines, we typically recommend a series of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart. We'll create a customized plan at your consultation.

Do you offer skin brightening for hyperpigmentation?

Yes. We offer professional Cimel and MELINE brightening protocols that combine in-clinic peels with at-home care to treat hyperpigmentation and uneven tone. Most clients need three in-clinic sessions plus homecare. Both protocols are designed to be safe for all skin tones, including darker and sensitive skin.

Preparation & Aftercare

How to get the best, safest results before and after your appointment.

How do I prepare for my laser hair removal appointment?

Shave the treatment area about 24 hours before your session so the follicle stays intact below the skin. Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for at least two weeks beforehand, and do not wax, pluck, or thread for four weeks prior since the laser needs the hair root in place. Avoid retinoids and exfoliating acids for 3 to 5 days before treatment, and come with clean skin free of lotions, deodorant, or makeup on the area.

What is the aftercare for laser hair removal?

Mild redness or slight swelling for a few hours is normal, similar to a light sunburn. For 24 to 48 hours avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, and strenuous exercise. Skip fragranced products and exfoliating acids on the area, and apply a soothing moisturizer if needed. Protect the area with SPF 30+ and avoid direct sun for two weeks. Do not wax or pluck between sessions — you may gently shave as needed.

What is the aftercare for facials and microneedling?

After a HydraFacial there's no downtime and you can return to your day right away — just wear SPF. After microneedling, expect mild redness for 24 to 48 hours; avoid direct sun, active ingredients like retinol and AHAs, makeup for the first 24 hours, and heavy exercise for 48 to 72 hours. Keep skin hydrated and use sunscreen daily. We provide detailed written aftercare at every appointment.

Is there any downtime after treatments?

Most of our treatments have little to no downtime. Laser hair removal and HydraFacials let you return to normal activities immediately. Microneedling and some peels may leave mild redness for a day or two. We'll tell you exactly what to expect for your specific treatment during your consultation.
